Bonaire Slalom Worlds: 1st juniors, 2nd woman juniors
(12-18 July 2009)
Polish young top talent Radoslaw “Gutek” Kurczewski (POL 75), SmartFins rider, took 1st place overall competing with 26 juniors. The event website states:
“The Junior Division had many talented competitors. Gutek
Kurczewski POL 75 stayed on top throughout the event
putting on the top for first place. This highly dedicated
young man really earned his top spot as he sailed flawless
throughout the course.“

Nicole van der Velden also continued her success of Hi-winds by being second best woman in the juniors division.
Smart surfers in first real competitions - 1st Slalom Worlds !
Smartfins are very new in competitions, and already after two events, Aruba Hi-winds and Bonaire Slalom Worlds, the very first Smart-surfers have been very successful by winning 1st places right away in both occasions !

1st and 2nd place at Hi-winds 2009 event on Aruba!
Recent Hi-winds Aruba, 3 SmartFins riders competing in this great traditional slalom event, guess what...
SmartFins rider Nicole van der Velden (ARU26), a very talented new young rider, beat 6-0 in Women slalom - a most convincing 1st place overall !
In the masters division, Mac McFarlane (ARU3, photo in action) alternated 1st/2nd place with former Olympic surfer Patun Saragoza, on the last day decisively 2nd place overall !
Other SmartFins Master Orlando de Weever (ARU92) did not reach top 3, but a great personal achievement in this very strong field.
